Carolyn Dailey

Artist Statement

Carolyn Dailey paints to express the beauty of the land and its people. A "plein air" oil painter, Carolyn prefers to work outdoors from nature, but she sometimes paints larger studio pieces from photos of her travels. Peaceful and serene, her paintings bring a glimpse of spirit and wonder to this busy modern world.

Background

Born in the USA, Carolyn has been a professional painter since 1983 and a full-time artist since 1987. She was trained in the "plein air" tradition at the Fechin Institute of Taos, NM by workshop study with Mark Daily, Michael Lynch and Ned Jacobs. New Mexican artist Frank La Lumia was her main mentor. She has been in numerous one woman and group shows in the Southwest, NY City, and Guatemala where she lived for 15 years before moving to Crestone in 2006.
