Crestone Artisan's Gallery, tucked in the extraordinary and powerful fold of the Sangre de Christo Mountains, is the showcase for an array of astonishing, exceptional, and professional art work by Artisans local to the San Luis Valley. Here you find works with a spirit that calls all of your senses to dance with the essence called life. The artwork is visually stunning, tactilely supple and textured. You can hear the soft sh-sh-shing of aspen leaves glittering in the wind of a watercolor rendition. Close your eyes and inhale the aroma of pinon and earth emitting from images and found objects crafted and reshaped into adornment for home and body. The taste of a golden sunrise on 14,000 foot mountain peaks hangs before you in a photograph. All of this richness rendered in form and surrounded by the captivating sounds of a still valley sung to by fair-haired coyotes can be found in the space of this unique gallery which emerged from the inspiration, and cooperation of a small group of artists in Crestone, Colorado. The gallery has been forged in the last seven years with the dedication, laughter, and growing pains of our creative community and remains a cooperative entity. It is run with the enthusiasm and inspiration of a dozen members whose works shift, change and grow deeper in passing time. While members work is the feature here, we also show the works of dozens of artisans in the surrounding San Luis Valley culminating in a stunning, and ever changing collection of art each time you visit. Crestone Artisans' Gallery is located on the corner of Cottonwood and Galena streets in downtown Crestone, Colorado.
